Throughout his career working in various lighting tech, pyrotechnics, and engineering jobs in the entertainment industry, he would move on to work with the Walt Disney Company, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Lollapalooza, South by Southwest, and the Houston Rodeo to name a few.

Whittley’s most memorable moment is Super Bowl LI in 2017 where Lady Gaga was the featured halftime performance. He was exposed to a phenomenal crew of lighting designers, programmers, technicians, and stagehands. He began to understand the large-scale possibilities that would ultimately shape his decision to become a production and lighting designer. “SCAD gave me the opportunity to learn new languages to communicate ideas from my mind. “Without verbal communication, I can communicate my vision through drawing, drafting, and rendering”, said Whittley.
